I am very excited about the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service this year. Every time I think about what volunteer work I would like to start doing for The Sparkle Project I am reminded of last year's Day of Service and how much fun I had. A friend from college recruited me to help clean up a school down in one of the poorer parts of LA. I recruited a few more friends and we had a blast. I don't think I've ever had so much fun planting flowers, cleaning, and getting my hands dirty. Not only did the school look great, but my soul felt great, too!
I urge everyone to spread the sparkle and participate in this year's Day of Service.
